Tarik (11) helps his father Elias (35) to transport illegal immigrants into the Netherlands. When an accident occurs, Tarik gains the acknowledgment from his father he has yearned for, but at a high price - the loss of his own innocence.

In 2008 Shady El-Hamus enrolled at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy in 2008 to study screenwriting. There, besides writing a lot of short screenplays, he soon realises he is longing for more and starts directing.
He graduates from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2012 as screenwriter/director. Soon he writes Magnesium which is directed by Sam de Jong, and writes and directs About sons. At the 2012 Netherlands Film Festival Magnesium was awarded best Student Film and for both films, Shady was awarded the Dioraphte Award for most outstanding talent. Magnesium was selected for the 2013 edition of the Sundance Film Festival – and many other international film festivals, and was the Dutch entry for the 2013 Student Oscar.
In the year 2015 Shady graduated with a Masters degree in Film Direction from the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield, United Kingdom. His graduation film Fairuz - starring acclaimed Palestinian actor Mohammad Bakri – premiered at the 2015 Dubai International Film Festival as part of the Main Competition. In 2015 Shady directed the first season (ten 25min episodes) of a light-hearted TV-Series in the Netherlands. In early 2017 he completed his next short film Nightshade’and is currently developing his first feature film.
