Bologna, 2002. The murder of a judge reopens old political wounds between Italy and France. Marco, a former left-wing activist, sentenced for murder and exiled in France for 20 years is accused of having ordered the attack. The Italian government requests his extradition. Born in Rome but working in Paris for 15 years, Annarita Zambrano has directed several short films among which Ophelia, competition at Cannes in 2013, Tre Ore, Cannes’s Director’s Fortnight in 2010, A la lune montante, Venice Film Festival in 2009 and Andante Mezzo Forte, Berlinale Film Festival in 2008.
Her first feature film, AFTER THE WAR, premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival as part of the Un Certain Regard selection.
Annarita Zambrano was born in Rome and now lives in Paris. She has directed several short films which were selected in the main international festivals: Ophélia, in Cannes 2013 Official Competition; Tre Ore, in Cannes 2010 Directors’ Fortnight; A la lune montante, in 2009 Venice Film Festival and Andante Mezzo Forte, at the 2008 Berlinale Film Festival. In 2013, she directed for RAI and Ciné+, The Black Soul of the Leopard, a documentary which analyzed with a political dimension Luchino Visconti’s masterpiece. After the war is Annarita’s rst feature lm. The lm is supported by the Gan Foundation for the cinema in 2015 and will be presented in Cannes 2017 Un Certain Regard.
