Wedad Shafakoug is a Jordanian-Spanish filmmaker that started her career in film set design before being accepted in a scholarship from SAE in Jordan to study filmmaking.
Wedad directed ‘’Identity. 000” which is a short documentary that discusses the issue of orphans and the effects of the abuses they faced in the orphanage throughout their stay. This film had concrete effects on changing the Jordanian laws that concern orphans.
She also directed “Last Rider” another short documentary that follows the story of Syrian refugees that attempt to escape Zaatari’s refugee camp illegally.
Wedad continues to present controversial societal problems in her works and she finished working on her first feature documentary “If you meant to kill me” in 2014.
